I went to a huge case lot sale the other day. I bought more than my weight in everything bulk. When I got home my kitchen was over flowing with bags and cans and boxes of food. Can I just tell you if you ever need refried beans, call me first! So as we were trying to put stuff away and rearrange cans to make room for the new ones we put the kids to work. They each took two cans downstairs at a time to dad who was doing the putting away down there (I was in charge of the upstairs stuff).
I got done before Steve so I went downstairs to relax after my shopping excursion. He was no where to be found, apparently he needed his own time out (in the bathroom). The TV was on the kids' favorite show and they couldn't have cared less. They had cans of food to play with.
"We're playing bowling with these cans mommy!" said T.K. It was so funny cause they would just line up the cans and knock them over with their swords. Then they started stacking the cans and knocking them over. I lost track of time watching them have a ball playing with cans. Cans of all things! Why do I buy toys and puzzles, boxes and cans do the trick. I felt like they were doing no harm and were having a fun creative time playing together. So I changed the channel and all of a sudden the cans didn't exist it was all about Spongebob, go figure.
