A Christmas Miracle!

This weekend Santa came around on the fire truck to check up on the kids and throw out some treats. We always love waiting for the big guy. We can hear the sirens for about an hour before he actually gets to our street. It's such a great scene. Parent's and kids running around in front of their houses and suddenly stop when the sirens get a little louder. Kids run up and down the street checking both sides of the block so they can catch him right away.

This year he came up the block right beside our house! On the truck Santa's helpers throw out little bags with candy. All the kids sprint to get all the bags they can. There are collisions and all kinds of madness! Brayden knocked over a 3-year-old to get his bag of candy. T.K. and Kian were thrown off by the loud siren's and the sheer magic of Santa that they just stood there. When they realized they had missed "Santa candy" they started to cry, T.K. most of all. So I tried to aim them in the direction that Santa would go next. They were running down the street as hard as they could to catch him on the other side of the block, and were just 5 seconds late. I could hear T.K. crying. There was a dad standing on the corner with his two little girls. Then the miracle happened. One of the little girls gave T.K. her extra bag of candy. His little tear streaked face lit up with a smile. We said thank you and Merry Christmas to the family and headed home.

With the big boys having thier candy in hand Kian quickly realizes that he didn't get his. He kept saying "I lost my Santa!" I offered him a candy cane and that seemed to make things a little better. We had just gotten home, and the boys were digging into the Santa candy when there was a knock at the door. Another miracle! A boy down the street had noticed my boys crying and came to offer one of his extra bags of candy. Kian was so excited he shoved all the candy in his mouth at once!

I know these are little things and I know that sharing candy probably won't change the world but it could! Christmas is such a wonderful time to think about our Savior Jesus Christ and his birth and life. I feel so blest to have such great children. I am so impressed with my neighbors and how they are raising their children. They are such great examples to me!

Merry Christmas!

how cute! I love it when this kind of kindness comes from a cute little kid. Shows that their mom is raising them well
