I have been trying to simplify my life since the counsel was given oh I don't know like a million years ago! Pretty much the concept it simplify your life and it will be happier, less stressful and more fun. It totally is! I don't have to run here and run there and turn around to do it again. This isn't to say I don't have busy times, everyone has weeks, even months where they are so busy they can't see but as a general rule I try to keep our schedules to a minimum of craziness. (Oh and p.s. I'm totally aware this will fade away as my boys get older and get more involved, let me dream people, let me dream!)
On this note I am finding it harder and harder to keep this simple mentality. The other day I called our satellite provider and asked for just locals and my DVR. I can't live without my DVR don't even ask me to try. They told me "No" I had to have a base package to have any service. What the...? We hardly ever watch TV anymore, and when we do watch it the shows we watch are on local channels. Basically I'm paying $40 a month for TV I never watch, so frustrating!
Another case and point: Our cell phones are up for renewal next month so Steve and I started shopping for phones (like a year ago) just to see which ones we liked and so on. We had both picked the ones we were happy with. Then we go online to check some stuff out and find out we can't get those phones without having to pay extra every month for a data plan. What the crap?! I never use my phone for Internet! And whats more it's just more static to get in the way. And another thing what if my kids got to it and got to all the filth?! Uh NO! So now we are faced with switching providers just to get decent phones.
When did this simple thing get so complicated?

Just sign up for the data plan and then cancel it a day later. My sis works for T-mobile, so she has taught me all the ins & outs of getting around stupid rules. If the phones you're interested in are T-mobile, let me know & I can have her pass along all her secrets.
Dont you remember that nothing in life is not complicated! Good luck with the phone thing
I totally agree! I want a phone that's just a phone! (and can txt) and that's about it.
Life has to be simple. I find myself saying "no" a lot and it feels good, even at little things, when I know I just need less on my plate. We are already asked to home/visit teach weekly, study the gospel daily, exercise daily, eat our vegetables daily, spend time with family daily, go to weekly activities at church, serve in our callings, finish our homework/work assignments, etc. daily, . . .
What more can anybody handle??????
