I Am Not A Scrooge, However...

I want to go on record as saying I love Christmas and I love what it is SUPPOSE to represent, Christ and his birth. However, I think something is going terribly wrong here. It is now the middle of November, a time for Thanksgiving and thinking about the wonderful country we live in and how it came to be. It is not Christmas. I'm seeing more and more lights up on houses and more and more Christmas trees up and decorated, really people, REALLY?! Can't you just wait a minute?

Here is my theory on the whole thing: I think people love Christmas time because there is such a warm fuzzy feeling of good will and everything being merry and bright. That is fantastic, BUT like anything else there can be too much of a good thing. I want Christmas to be special and I don't want to tire of the decorations or the songs or any of it. I also want to enjoy the Thanksgiving season. I try really hard to make my home and my life as merry and bright as I can all year. I work extra hard to make Christmas special, I feel like the longer we try to celebrate it the more it looses something. By the time Thanksgiving is done I'm itching to put up my tree and my decorations, that's the way it should be, anticipation does wonders.

I know those of you who watch the Christmas movies on Halloween night and listen the Christmas music from October to January are probably not going to change, and that's fine, it's a free country, for which I am grateful during this Thanksgiving season. Here is my vow: I will not participate in the tree trimming or light lighting or decor hanging festivities until after my Thanksgiving is good and over.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I do agree to wait a little on the whole christmas thing! November really does have a good theme behind it I mean all of us have so much to be thankful for that is for sure! Although you won't find me putting up my tree this early I can't say you won't find me listening to Christmas music I just love it so much.

haha, you sound just like my husband. He gets angry when I put a Christmas movie on for the kids before thanksgiving.
